Birmingham

Birmingham is a scrawling place
With folks both black and brown
And yellow for that matter
Cos there's a China Town
And sometime ago I saw
Standing ... yes
A wigwam in Victoria Square
When I spoke to the one dressed the part
He said he was a Crow
Or Sioux or something similar
But there is one thing I know
He sounded like a Brummie
But maybe there was a link
Or maybe he looked flushed because
He had a drop to drink
Well the answer is plain to hear
When that silvery accent fall
Subtly upon your ear
And when you've been away for years
Or far across the foam
when you get back to hear it
It's just great to be back home
